First Olympic energy facility launched in Sochi
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe first Olympic energy facility (the 110-kilowatt substation
Rodnikovaya) was opened in Sochi today, RIA Novosti reports.
The Rodnikovaya substation is one of Sochi’s main energy distributing complexes.
Sochi is a complicated city for energy distribution, and such
substations will allow the city to develop, Deputy Head of Sochi
Administration Yuri Palamarchuk said. Kubanenergo plans to build 3
more 110-kilowatt substations – Vishniovaya, Bikhta and Bocharov
Ruchey, and plans to reconstruct the Vereshaginskaya substation are in
the pipeline.
There are also plans to reconstruct 200 km of overhead energy lines
and build 690 km of cable lines. Over 104 million roubles were spent
on energy projects in Sochi last year.
The Rodnikovaya substation will supply energy to build a 2-level
traffic interchange in Sochi and supply energy to the city’s largest
neighbourhoods – Makarenko, Sochinsky water canal, Miasocombinat, 3
polyclinics, General Post Office, Telegraph, 2 schools and Sochi
Children’s Centre.
