Kyrgyzstan names mountain peak after Putin
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Kyrgyz parliament has approved the naming of a mountain peak in the Chui region after Vladimir Putin, 24.kg reports.
In December, 2010 deputies of the local district council of the Chui region came up with the initiative to give a more than 4000-meter-high mountain the name of the Russian prime minister. The initiative was supported by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
It was approved today by the deputies of the parliament without discussion by a majority vote.
