Repair work on Jugba-Sochi road continue

The first out of 48 spikes was installed to stop the landslide on
February 17. The second 35-meter spike is being installed on February
18. The road workers decided to built a temporary protection wall. It
will allow part of the road to be open for reverse traffic.
The works are speed up. 37 units of equipment and 79 specialists are
mobilized, press-service of the Russian Transport Ministry said.
The landslide on Jugba-Sochi road occurred on February 8. Part of the
road was damaged and only one line was functioning. The land moved 6
meters on February 10, traffic was closed. An emergency was announced
in Tuapse District.
Repairing the road requires 150-160 million rubles. Traffic was sent
to a by-pass road at Shaumyan mountain pass. Restoring the road will
take at least 3 weeks.
