Stavropol Territory to spend 620 million rubles on infrastructure

The Southern Telecommunications Company (UTK) will provide 620 million
rubles to the Stavropol Territory for the development of communication
infrastructure in 2011, Yuga.ru reports.

The investment program for 2011 includes reconstruction of air
communication line, line and cable facilities, telephone connection of
district with mass construction and modernization of information
transfer services.

Broadband Internet connection using the ETHH technology is a priority
for 2011. Over 33,000 ports will be launched. The ETTH network is
being constructed in Stavropol, Mineralnye Vody and Nevinnomyssk.
Approximately 188 million rubles will be spent.

The company also plans to launch 39,000 DSL ports. The total coverage
of DSL ports in Stavropol Territory in early 2011 was 138,000.
