Anton Lopatin: Azerbaijan's presidential election was held at high level
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaMember of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Anton Lopatin, speaking at the press conference of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly's observation mission for the presidential election in Azerbaijan, said that there was a large delegation of CEC members from the Russian side led by the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission.
"These are also eight chairmen of the regional election commissions," the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza cited him as saying.
"In total, we visited more than 150 precinct commissions," Lopatin specified. "All my colleagues noted the high level of professional training of the precinct commissions' members," he stressed.
"We consider that, given the high voter turnout, the preparation carried out by the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission, played its role," the member of the Russian CEC pointed out.
He said that "this important work, among other things, influenced the fact that there were no violations during this election." Anton Lopatin drew attention to the fact that voters were informed in the best possible way. "Everyone had a deep understanding of the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan," he said.
"The elections were held at a high organizational and professional level," Anton Lopatin concluded.
