Blizzard in highlands of Adjara

Due to heavy snow, an alarming situation has developed in the highland
areas of Adjara, particularly in Khulo and Shuakhevi, Georgia Online
reports.

As noted in a press release of the Adzharian organization of Christian
Democratic Movement, 13 communities in the Khulo municipality are
without road access, the same situation is seen in seven communities
of the Shuakhevi area.

In the Shuakhevi municipality, a seriously ill resident, David
Makharadze, died while being carried on a sledge out of the village
Mahalakidzeebi to hospital. According to the parties, the population
is cut off from the outside world with no medication and scarce
reserves of food.
