Armenian business in Georgia is operating for the domestic market of
the country only, Gurgen Makaryan, director of Armenian Alliances of
Manufacturers and Businessmen, said at a press-conference, Armenia
Today
reports.

He said that Georgia has good conditions for business, it has a
good-sized population and tourists. At the same time, Armenian
businessmen have limited opportunities for exporting products. Export
from Georgia to CIS states is beneficial for Armenia, rather than
Georgia. CIS members provide each other with benefits, there is no
double-taxation.

Makaryan noted that the maximum possible savings from transport
expenses is 10%, privileges of inter-state deals have a minimum of
10%. The official said that Armenian products cannot be exported from
Georgia to the EU. However, business has potential and needs to prove
that the companies can provide products for the European markets.
