Putin: Russia interested in expanding constructive partnerships with Islamic countries

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants in the 10th International Economic Summit Russia - the Islamic World: KazanSummit 2018, held in Kazan on May 10–12.

"The agenda of your meeting covers efforts to promote international cooperation in finance, trade, investment, infrastructure development and other areas," the message reads.

The president noted that the participants of the summit will discuss "economic, scientific and technological modernisation in its various aspects, as well as ways to fight poverty and overcome humanitarian conflicts and crises".

"Russia supports the efforts your countries are undertaking to promote justice, equality and mutual benefit in international economic relations, as well as to prevent unfair competition, diktat and unlawful sanctions," he noted.

"I would like to reaffirm Russia’s interest in further expanding constructive partnerships with the countries of the Islamic World. In this context, we attach great importance to the work of Russia – the Islamic World Strategic Vision Group headed by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov," Putin concluded.
