EU to finance reforms in Georgia

The European Union will allocate € 40 million to Georgia within the framework of the bilateral cooperation with the republic, the Chairman of the European Commission (EC), Jean-Claude Juncker said today at a joint press briefing with Georgian Prime Minister Georgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi.

"The more reforms Georgia implements, the more financial aid it receives. I want to inform that in the framework of the bilateral cooperation,  we will allocate € 40 million. In total, from 2014 to 2018, € 597 million has been allocated through our financial assistance,’’ he said, adding that € 45 million will be allocated separately as the microfinance assistance to the republic
