Nazarbayev made lifelong chairman of Kazakh Security Council
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Senate of Kazakhstan supported the bill making incumbent President Nursultan Nazarbayev lifelong chairman of the Security Council.
The Security Council considers main areas of state policy in national security, defense capability, coordinates actions of government agencies in these areas.
Chairman and members of the Security Council supervise activities of the Security Council, convene its meetings, perform other duties.
Adoption of the bill will allow to precisely degine the place and role of the Security Council as a national security and defense coordinating agency, Justice Minister Marat Beketaev said.
The members of the Security Council include: President, Chairman of Senate, Chairman of Mazhilis, Prime Minister, State Secretary, Chief of President’s Administration, Secretary, General Prosecutor, National Security Committee Chairman, Foreign Minister, Defense Minister, Interior Minister.
The bill was forwarded to the President for signing, AKIpress reported.
