Terrorist cell planning attack on Netanyahu thwarted
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIsrael's Shin Bet security service says it has uncovered a plot to target Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the Shin Bet, a resident of a Palestinian refugee camp in east Jerusalem is among those in custody for his involvement in the plot, orchestrated from Syria, to harm Netanyahu, the AP reported.
A terrorist operative from Syria was at least partly behind the cell, according to Ynet. In addition to a planned attack against Netanyahu, it was also targeting Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, buildings belonging to the American consulate, and Canadian representatives staying in Jerusalem.
