Armenian State Pedagogical University elects new rector

The board of directors of the Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, headed by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, has elected Ruben Mirzakhanyan to be rector of the university, Novosti Armenia reports.

20 out of 27 council members voted for the only candidate, Mirzakhanyan, one against him and five ballots were declared invalid.

Mirzakhanian has served as the Acting Rector since September 2010, after the former university rector Artyusha Ghukasian resigned due to health problems.
