Pashinyan: new stage begins in Armenia-Russia relations

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Russia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin yesteday, expressing confidence that the Armenian-Russian relations will continue to develop and strengthen.

"A new stage began in the friendly and allied relations between Armenia and Russia. Te Armenian government is interested in developing mutual partnership in all areas," the government press office cited Pashinyan as saying.

The head of the government also attached importance to effective cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to solve existing problems and increase the efficiency of integration processes.

Kopyrkin, in turn, assured that he would make every effort to give a new push to the cooperation of the two fraternal and friendly states, ARKA reported.

The ambassador said he feels a great responsibility in the new position and is ready to cooperate actively with the Armenian government to deepen the ties between the two states. The two sides discussed also a number of other issues, relating to bilateral cooperation.
