Russian atomic energy team to work on Turkish Akkuyu nuclear power plant

The Russian company "AEP" will start engineering work at the Turkey's Akkuyu nuclear power plant, ITAR-TASS cites the company's press service.

The Russian-Turkish intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the construction and operation of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant was signed in Ankara on the 12th of May, 2010. The agreement provides construction of four power units according to the Russian project NPP-2006.

The work is expected to be finished by July 15, 2012.
