Algeria plans to establish inter-parliamentary friendship group with Azerbaijan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAzerbaijan and Algeria may establish an inter-parliamentary friendship group. The initiative was taken by Algeria'`s justice minister Tayeb Louh, who visited Milli Majlis, the parliament of Azerbaijan, as a part of the Algerian delegation, the statement posted on the parliament website says.
"The ministries of justice of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to develop the bilateral relations. We signed the second agreement today. The heads of both countries attach great importance to developing relations, including the interparliamentary ties. I will also propose establishing an Azerbaijan-Algeria inter-parliamentary friendship group," he said.
According to the Algerian minister, it will promote the development of relations between the two countries' legislative authorities.
First deputy speaker of the parliament Ziyafat Asgarov, in turn, stressed the dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Algeria relations.He stressed that Baku is interested in deepening these relations.
Asgarov also highlighted the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying that Azerbaijan has more than 1,200,000 refugees and IDPs. He noted that Algeria always supports Azerbaijan's fair stance within international organizations. "We want the country to step up efforts in this regard," the first deputy speaker concluded.
