EU ready for growth in LNG trade with US

The EU's energy chief, Maros Sefcovic, said that the EU-US Energy Council discussed Nord Stream 2, aid to Ukraine in the form of energy reforms and the upcoming trilateral gas talks with Russia, Sputnik reports.

Continuing Russia’s gas transit through Ukraine is of strategic importance to the EU, Maros Sefcovic said in a statement.

According to him, the EU is ready for an increase in LNG trade with the United States.
