Another person involved in murder of Ambassador Karlov arrested in Turkey

Turkish law enforcement officers arrested another suspect in the investigation of the murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov, Anadolu agency reports.

"As part of the investigation into the murder of the Russian ambassador to Ankara, Andrei Karlov, a former policeman was arrested," RIA Novosti cited agency as saying.

A former policeman was detained in Ankara, he denied the charges, but the court had found him guilty of involvement in the activities of the terrorist organization.

Russia’s Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was shot dead on December 19, 2016 while he was delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition in Ankara. The attacker, police officer Mevlut Mert Altintas, was killed. 

As part of the investigation into Karlov's assassination, seven people were arrested. Turkish authorities have alleged that Karlov’s killer had links to the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ).
