US launching TV channel for Iranian audience
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe U.S. government was launching a 24/7 Farsi-language channel on TV, radio, digital and social media formats to reach Iranians in Iran and around the globe, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said.
"Today, one in four Iranians – 14 million people – watches or listens to U.S. Government broadcasts each week," he noted. Pompeo said that "U.S. Board – Broadcasting Board of Governors is taking new steps to help Iranians get around internet censorship as well".
"The BBG is launching a new 24/7 Farsi-language TV channel. It will span not only television, but radio, digital, and social media format, so that the ordinary Iranians inside of Iran and around the globe can know that America stands with them," the Secretary of State said during a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum.
