Zakharova: Moscow welcomes any constructive meeting between Baku and Yerevan

Russia welcomes any constructive meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, who is on a visit to Baku.

"Meetings between Azerbaijan and Armenia are held at various levels," she recalled. "We support any meetings that produce positive results," the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza cited  Zakharova as saying.

Russia acts as a mediator in talks on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the spokesperson said, noting that this issue was also discussed at today’s consultations in Baku.

Consultations between the Azerbaijani and Russian foreign ministries on the topic of information support of foreign policy were held in Baku today. Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev and his Russian counterpart Maria Zakharova attended the consultations.
