Kazan without Kaka, Makhachkala with Gattuso

Spanish media say Real Madrid have turned down an offer by Rubin Kaka for 45 million euro. Chelsea made the same offer to Real. Manchester City is also said to be interested in the player.

This is not the first attempt of Russian clubs to buy top-ranking football players this year: Machachkala's Anzhi recently signed a contract with Brazilians star Roberto Carlos.

It is also rumored that the club will sign Milan's Gennaro Gattuso, who will be paid 10 million euro a year. It was confirmed by AC Milan on the 14 December 2009 that Gattuso would remain a Milan player until 30 June 2012, after adding one more year to his contract. Some experts indicate that Milan club will let Gattuso go without regrets as he gave the team everything he could. Besides, on 15 February 2011, during Milan's UEFA Champions League game against Tottenham Hotspur, Gattuso grabbed Tottenham coach (and former Milan player) Joe Jordan by the throat during an incident on the sideline. After losing the game, video footage shows Gattuso again confronting Jordan and head-butted him before being restrained and dragged back by both teammates and opponents.

It is yet unknown when Gattuso will start playing with the Russian team.
