French school under Heydar Aliyev Foundation to be opened in Azerbaijan

At a meeting held at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation prior to the signing ceremony, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva expressed hope that the French school will have a positive impact on processes of development of the education in Azerbaijan.
"I hope that a French school will soon operate in our country and it will also have a positive impact on education in Azerbaijan. You know that, the attention to education and development of education in Azerbaijan is a priority area today. Of course, the activities of such a school in our country will give a powerful impetus to this process. I commend all those involved in this project. I know a great job have been done so far. I hope that we will establish a very fruitful cooperation in the future,” Mrs. Aliyeva said.
Speaking about the state care to education in Azerbaijan, Education Minister Misir Mardanov highlighted the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the projects that Foundation implemented in the field of educational development. He noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which has achieved a great success in various fields, realizes its most ambitious projects in the field of education. To date, more than 300 educational institutions of the modern type have been built upon the Foundation's initiative.
Creating a school that provides an opportunity to the French-speaking foreign nationals temporarily or permanently residing in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani citizens to learn the French language is in the interests of both countries. The French school, which will organize education in accordance with the national curriculum of France, will be an important factor for cooperation between the two countries in education, culture and linguistics.
Under the Declaration, the curriculum of the French school will be line with the classic French model, which is applied in the 12-year institution of general education starting from kindergarten. The education will be carried out in the French language.
