A Milli Majlis deputy, political scientist Asim Mollazade, speaking with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, noted that ADEX has become an excellent platform for demonstrating the Azerbaijani military industry. "In the first place, such exhibitions is an opportunity to advertise products of the countries producing weapons. The military-industrial branch has been actively developed in recent years in Azerbaijan, and ADEX-2018 is an excellent platform to present our products," he stressed.
Asim Mollazade reminded that today Azerbaijan is most actively engaged in military-technical cooperation with Russia, Turkey and Israel. "At the same time, Russia is our main arms exporter, while with Turkey, Israel and Pakistan we cooperate in the production of new weapons. Azerbaijan's foreign policy, first of all, is guided by the partnership strategy. Today Azerbaijan is interested in this partnership both at the regional level and at the global level," the Milli Majlis deputy said.
The Deputy Director General of the Trend information agency, political commentator Arzu Nagiyev, in turn, recalled that ADEX was caused by the fact that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is still not settled. "As long as the Karabakh problem exists, Azerbaijan will continue to be one of the largest regional arms importers, but today we not only purchase arms from abroad, but also produce our own. At the ADEX, Azerbaijan demonstrates its achievements and promotes Azerbaijani arms to the world market. Foreign companies, which will come to the exhibition in Baku, will sign here export and import contracts, as well as cooperation agreements, which will both strengthen the defense capability of Azerbaijan and strengthen its economy," he said.
Arzu Nagiyev also called Russia, Turkey and Israel as the main military-industrial partners of Azerbaijan. "Basically, Baku cooperates with Russia and Israel, we also have contacts with Turkey, Pakistan and Iran, Ukraine and Belarus, that is those countries that export arms," the Deputy Director General of the Trend information agency concluded.
