Ankara: Turkey to respond in kind to US sanctions
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaTurkey will continue to pursue policy of tit-for-tat responses to any U.S. actions, Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said after Washington threatened to impose more sanctions on Turkey in an escalated row between the two NATO allies.
"We have responded [to U.S. sanctions] within the context of the rules of the World Trade Organization and will continue to do so," Yeni Safak cited the minister as saying.
Turkey and the U.S. are currently experiencing rocky relations after Washington imposed sanctions on two Turkish ministers for not releasing American pastor Andrew Brunson.
U.S. President Donald Trump said yesterday the United States "will pay nothing" to Turkey for the release of Brunson, who he called "a great patriot hostage."
