Belarus and Turkey might switch to the national currencies in bilateral trade, Belarus' Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Savinykh said, BelTA reports.

“I am convinced that this year the trade between Turkey and Belarus will exceed $1 billion. It is time to switch to the Turkish lira and Belarusian rubles in trade transactions,” the diplomat noted.

According to him, transition to the national currencies in payments will give an additional impetus to bilateral trade.

Andrei Savinykh informed that one of Turkey's leading banks is in talks over investments in Belarus. The diplomat expressed hope for the further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
