The head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Karin Kneissl, addressed the UN General Assembly in an out of the ordinary way - she criticized the work of her colleagues from other Western countries, and did it not in her native German, but in Arabic, Spanish, French and English.

"Unfortunately, we as diplomats often can do nothing for the voices of those who live in suffering to be heard. Our diplomatic work is very often associated with beautiful statements, but not with concrete actions. I would even dare to say that we enjoy the ‘dialogue of the deaf’ because we only read out our prepared statements, " she pointed out.
