Georgian pavilion opens at Frankfurt Book Fair
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe pavilion of Georgia has been opened at the Frankfurt Book Fair last evening.
The set-up of the pavilion reflects the theme of the Georgian showcase — the 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet, which serve to introduce various sides of the country’s literature, art and culture.
Georgia's Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini have participated in the opening ceremony of the pavilion with other guests.
"We are honored to be the Guest of Honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair which has a 500-years history. Participation in this prestigious and large scale event provides a unique opportunity for us to represent ancient and rich Georgian culture as well as showcase the civilizational unity that connects Georgians and Europeans," Agenda.ge cited Bakhtadze as saying.
The PM added that Georgia’s every achievement, democratic or economic development and leadership position in the region are the results of the county’s Euro-Atlantic choice.
Bakhtadze has expressed his hope that the Frankfurt Book Fair will further support Georgia’s cultural integration to the EU and advance the bilateral relations.
