Azerbaijan in top three countries popular for gastronomic tourism

Azerbaijan hits the top three countries for gastronomic tourism among Russians, along with Uzbekistan and Italy, as a result of voting.

According to the results of the Internet voting of National Geographic Traveler Awards 2018, Azerbaijan has been included in Top 3 of countries that are popular for gastronomic tourism. Azerbaijan won the category with 17% of voting, beating France (13%), South Korea, Sweden and Armenia (less than 10% of total votes).

Uzbekistan ranks first in the nomination of 'Gastronomic tourism'. The country has gained 34% of the vote, followed by Italy (21%).

The online voting was open from June 22 to October 12.
