Trans-Caucasus highway blocked

The Trans-Caucasus highway connecting Russia and South Ossetia remains closed for three days due to heavy snow and avalanche risk, Yuga.ru reports.


The highway was closed by the Emergency Commission of North Ossetia. It stopped snowing on March 9. Specialists started inspecting the area.


Four avalanche zones were found in the morning. Avalanche specialists plan to work in the mountainous areas of the Zaramag dam, RIA Novosti reports.


There have been several avalanches. The body of a bulldozer driver hit by an avalanche has not yet been removed from the place.
