Armenia's first female mayor: Diana Gasparyan elected Etchmiadzin head

Diana Gasparyan, who was nominated by the Civil Contract Party, has won the mayoral election in Armenia’s Etchmiadzin city.

The Central Electoral Commission informed that, according to preliminary data, Armenia’s first female mayor-elect received 8,076 votes. The mayoral contender who came second - Suren Muradyan - garnered 3,699 votes, News.am reported.

Twelve candidates ran in the snap mayoral election in Vagharshapat.
