Russia joins UN sanctions against Libya

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree joining the sanctions of the UN Security Council against Muammar Gaddafi, RIA Novosti reports.

The decree comes into force on February 26. Russia will inspect all cargo from Libya and to Libya. Military cargo will be confiscated.

A source from the Kremlin said that Medvedev was initially against the actions of Libyan authorities.
