Higher education centers for service staff to give Olympic training

A consortium of higher education centers will train staff for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, head of the Saint-Petersburg State University for Services and Economy said, Yuga.ru reports.

The consortium received orders from the Ministry of Education and Science and the administration of the Krasnodar Territory and Sochi.

Training of hotel staff in Sochi will start in March.

The consortium consists of nine higher education centers.

Alexey Grachyov, head of the resort and tourism department of Sochi, said that over 24,000 people will be trained in three years. Major enterprises will pay for the training. Small business will receive state support and partial financing from the regional budget.
