Armenia's parliament fails to pass amendments to electoral code again

As many as 62 MPs voted for the amendments, while 63 votes were needed to pass them, Republican faction MP Arpine Hovhannisyan said.
On October 22, the National Assembly failed to pass the amendments at the first reading.
In accordance with the amendments, MPs have to be elected only through party lists, not in individual races, ARKA recalls.
The amendments also down the benchmark for obtaining seats in the parliament by parties from 5 to 4% and by blocs from 7 to 6%.
