UN Security Council recognizes Doku Umarov as one of the most dangerous terrorists

The Committee of the UN Security Council on sanctions against Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and associated individuals and entities has included Doku Umarov, leader of the international terrorist gangs in the North Caucasus region, on the consolidated list of the Committee, RIA Novosti reports, referring to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"In accordance with the Security Council decision, UN member states are obliged to enact without delay the sanctions regime against Umarov, to freeze all financial assets belonging to him and to put a ban on movement and the provision of any assistance to him, including financial resources and arms sales," the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
