Deputy chairman of Ingush Supreme Court dismissed
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe deputy chairman of the Supreme Court of Ingushetia, Magomed Daurbekov, has been dismissed, Kommersant reports.
Daurbekov was accused of making an inhumane decision resulting in the death of a convict.
Daurbekov became the new head of the council of judges on January 25, 2010. His opponents say that the election results were forged. Daurbekov was also accused of the illegal prison transfer of Adam Pliyev from Stavropol to Nazran, where he died due to lack of medical aid. Pliyev had HIV and tuberculosis.
Daurbekov denied the accusations of forged elections. He said that the transfer of Pliyev was due to his appeal case and required his presence at the Supreme Court. The transfer was initiated by Pliyev’s lawyer.
The deputy chairman says that he is a target of revenge for criticizing the republic’s authorities. Hearings on the appeal of Daurbekov’s dismissal will be held on March 16.
