Experts from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have visited the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory, sealed off due to a federal investigation, to get access to its data and athletes’ stored samples.

A new building of the Anti-Doping Laboratory will be opened at the university. "WADA has questions to RUSADA, but I am not commenting on them as they don’t refer to our laboratory," rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy said.

"This time [the WADA delegation] will not visit the new building, visiting the old one. At the moment, they are at the lab," TASS cited the rector as saying.

Proving WADA experts before the yearend with access to doping samples data of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory is a key condition for reinstating the Russian Anti-Doping Agency. In case of failing to comply with the WADA terms, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency will be once again declared non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code, which it won back on September 20.

RUSADA was declared non-compliant with the WADA Code in November 2015 after a doping scandal in Russia’s track and field athletics. New doping revelations were later made based on claims of former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov.
