European boxing champion arrested on police assault charges in Armenia

Armenian police have arrested former European boxing champion Samson Khachatryan on charges of attacking a police officer, Gazeta reports.

Khachatryan was detained at an opposition rally on March 1 after disobeying the demands of law enforcement officers and injuring a policemen.

Khachatryan was a champion of the USSR and has won World and European titles.
