Solzhenitsyn monument unveiled in Moscow

A monument dedicated to the Russian novelist Alexander Solzhenitsyn was unveiled in Moscow today. The opening ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the Kremlin website.

The event is part of a series of events to mark the 100th anniversary of the writer’s birth.  

Designed by sculptor Andrey Kovalchuk, the monument was installed in Moscow’s Tagansky District on the street that bears Solzhenitsyn’s name.
