Second person dies from swine flu in Georgia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe H1N1 virus, known as the swine flu, has caused the death of already two persons in Georgia, the republic's Minister of Health Davit Sergeenko said.
According to him, the first person died yesterday morning in Adjara, the second person died yesterday in Kutaisi.
"About 63 cases of influenza have been reported in the last 3 weeks and 95% of them were H1N1," director of the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
He added that there is no epidemic situation in the country and the virus was spread not only in Georgia but in Europe as well, Agenda.ge reported.
Gamkrelidze called on the population to show special caution regarding the swine flu.
