Putin and Mirziyoyev exchange New Year greetings

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to the Kremlin website.

"The heads of state exchanged warm New Year greetings," the message says.

The sides discussed pressing issues of the bilateral agenda, including the implementation of agreements reached as a result of Putin's state visit to Uzbekistan in October 2018. 

In addition. the presidents reaffirmed their intention to continue strengthening the Moscow-Tashkent strategic partnership and promoting bilateral cooperation in the political, trade and economic, humanitarian and other spheres.
