Rescue helicopter crashes near world’s longest zipline in UAE
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaA rescue helicopter crashed in Ras Al Khaimah in United Arab Emirates on Saturday evening killing all of the crew, the country’s civil aviation authority said, Al-Arabiya reports.
“An Agusta 139 helicopter in a rescue mission crashed in Jabal Jis area in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah”, state news agency WAM quoted UAE’s Authority of Civil Aviation as saying.
Videos posted online show the helicopter diving into a tailspin before crashing and bursting into flames in the valley of a rocky mountain.
Ras al-Khaimah’s ruler Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi ordered an immediate investigation into the crash, which occurred near the site of the world's longest zip line measuring 2.83 kilometers which opened for the public last February.
