SOCAR to build chemical plant in Azerbaijan

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) plans to construct a carbamide plant in Sumgayit this year, near the Azerkimya enterprise, part of SOCAR, head of the company Rovnag Abdullayev said, Trend reports.

Abdullayev said that they have completed feasibility studies. Azerkimya joined SOCAR last year. SOCAR is currently working on extraction of oil and gas, their processing, sales of oil products and gas distribution and production and sales of chemical products.

The company plans to modernize its enterprises. The company is planning to found new oil refineries and petrochemical complexes. SOCAR will establish a new technological park for chemical production.
