Georgian police detain two Turkish citizens for illegal border crossing

The employees of Border Police of Georgia have detained two citizens of Turkey at Sarpi Border Checkpoint, InterPressNews reported citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

An investigation has established that the detainees illegally crossed Georgian-Turkish border by avoiding the BCP control.

The nvestigation is in progress on the fact of illegal crossing of the state border, article 344, II part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.

The detainees face 4-5 years in prison.
