Moscow hosts talks on innovative development of regions

The event was held at the Academy of People’s Economy and State Service of the Russian president on March 16-19.
Governors of Kaluzhskaya, Irkutskaya, Novosibirskaya Regions and other regions of Russia arrived on the second day of the forum. Deputy Governor of Tomsk Oksana Kozlovskaya said that their region is in a complicated economic situation and needed to switch from raw orientation to innovations. In an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza she said that it is not a universal solution. The key role was played by the high level of intellectual resources.
Vice-Premier Igor Shuvalov talked on modernization. He said that a lack of capital for switching to innovative development is a problem. There is little competitiveness with Europe. Yet, he said that Russia has enough intellectual resources to win the competition.
Mikhail Prokhorov, a well-known businessman and President of the ONEXIM Group, said talked about legal support of modernization. He said that labor laws correspond the goals of an industrial society. However, they do not meet with the state interest in switching to a new economic type.
