Construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad to be resumed
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line was halted due to the severe winter, but will be resumed in two weeks, reports Armenia Today, quoting Georgian Minister for Economy Zurab Pololikoshvili.
One third of the construction work has been completed. Pololikashvili expressed confidence that the route would start operating by 2012.
The project also includes construction of the Kars-Ahalkalaki railroad. The cost of the project is estimated at $422 mln, $202mln of which will be spent on the construction of Georgian part and $220mln on the Turkish section.
