The President of Armenia, the National Assembly and the Government are determined to carry through democratic reforms, the Speaker of Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan stated today at a meeting in Yerevan with the co-reporters of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Armenia News reports

The co-reporters of the Monitoring Committee of PACE, John Prescott (United Kingdom) and Axel Fischer (Germany), arrived in Armenia on an official visit.
Abrahamyan thanked the reporters for their cooperation and noted the importance of efforts to assist Armenia in overcoming the problems encountered in implementing the reforms, the press service of the National Assembly says.
The two sides touched on the issue of the release of people imprisoned after the events of the 1st of March 2008, the process of forming the National Commission on Television and Radio and reform of the electoral code and the police and judicial systems.
