NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance must prepare for a world without the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, noting that he sees no no signs of a breakthrough on the issue.

The NATO chair recalled that the United States announced at the NATO Foreign Ministerial meeting in December they would give Russia 60 days to return to compliance with the INF Treaty.

"That period will end in two days. And unfortunately, we have seen no signs of a breakthrough," Stoltenberg said.

"So we must prepare for a world without the INF Treaty," he concluded.
