Rouhani doesn't accept Zarif's resignation
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIranian President Hassan Rouhani has not formally accepted the resignation of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian President's chief of staff Mahmoud Vaezi said.
"Reports claiming that the president of the republic [of Iran] has accepted Zarif's resignation are categorically refuted," Vaezi wrote on Twitter late on Monday.
Earlier Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif went to Instagram in order to announce his resignation, apologizing "for all the shortcomings during the service".
The move was confirmed by Deputy spokesman of Foreign Ministry Seyyed Abbas Mousavi. He said that the ministry's personnel was unaware of Zarif's resignation or the possible reasons behind it, stressing that Zarif's Instagram account was official and it had not been hacked.
A source said that the Iranian parliament will debate on the resignation of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at Tuesday's session, Sputnik reported.
