Three people arrested for using counterfeit money in Georgia

Georgia's Ministry of Finance’s Investigative Service has detained three men for using counterfeit currency.

The Investigative Service discovered that the detained individuals used counterfeit money (200 GEL - $75) at shops in Kakheti. They later allegedly used 100 (more than $37) and 50 lari banknotes in Tbilisi and the Shida Kartli region, Agenda.ge reported.

Overall, the investigative service confiscated 4,150 GEL ($1,554) from the detained men. If the detained men are convicted, they could face a prison sentence of four to seven years.
