Russian Energy Ministry confident Nord Stream-2 to be built before year-end

Russia's Energy Ministry is confident that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will be built within the previously designated time frame - by the end of 2019, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said after a meeting with chairman of the Executive Board of OMV Rainer Seele.

"I am confident that our joint efforts and the work being done to promote Nord Stream 2 will not be in vain, and the project will be successfully implemented on time,” TASS cited him as saying.

In the framework of the talks, Novak and Seele also discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and OMV projects in cooperation with Russian partners. In particular, the progress in the development of the Yuzhno-Russkoye oil, gas and condensate field, which gas production was about 25.1 billion cubic meters in 2018, the Ministry of Energy added.
