Portugal mission staff member attacked in Tehran
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaA staff member of Portugal embassy in Tehran was attacked in Iran's capital on Tuesday night, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said, adding that the armed attack was due to personal hostility.
The spokesman said that based on the preliminary investigations and the police report, the person served as a staff member in Portuguese diplomatic mission in Tehran.
Qassemi added that investigations are still underway, IRNA reported.
A middle-aged member of the Portuguese embassy in Tehran with an Iranian origin escaped an assassination attempt yesterday. He was transferred to hospital and is in good health conditions now.
Head of Tehran Police Information Center Colonel Babak Namak Shenas said that the attackers shot the man using an air pistol.
